Hi,
i'm Stefanya from Italy.
I love the "American pastry world ", here in Italy the cake are very good but not so nice as yours ^_*
Few days ago i discovered cupcakes....WOW!
I've tried to do them, they're nice but.... my frosting: it's orrible!
I've seen the liv Hansen's Jungle animal cupcake: they are wonderful, and the frosting is marvellous: smooth, polish.
Any one know Liv's frosting recipe or one similar?
Please help me icon_cry.gif
We can make a change: you give American recipes and i the italian ones? thumbs_up.gif

P.s.
If you may also give me a good cupcake recipe i will appreciate it icon_redface.gif

P.s.2

This is the "House Buttercream" recipe from the Whimsical Bake House book. I hope this helps you.

In the bowl of an electric mixer, stir together:
6 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla

With a whisk attachment, add and whip at low speed:
1 cup boiling water (3/4 cup on hot days)
Whip until smooth and cool.

Add and whip until smooth:
2 3/4 cups high-ratio or regular vegetable shortening
6 ounces (1 1/2 sticks) slightly chilled butter, cut into 1-inch pieces

Increase the speed to medium-high. Whip until light, fluffy, and doubled in volume. (10-20 minutes)

The buttercream will almost fill a 5-quart mixing bowl.
Yield: 9 1/2 cups.

This is one version of a typical "American Buttercream". There are more in the recipe section here on CC.
