I'm trying to figure out how to do this cake in buttercream. I have done the monogram in fondant to be placed on the cake, but I am not sure how to do the floral on the two tiers. HHHEEELLLLPPPP!

Thank you!

It looks like it was either pressed in with an impression mat OR is a stencil.

I agree with kristy. Let your BC crust and then press the mat onto it.

I didn't know I could do that with the BC. That was my problem. Thanks!

you could probably make your own impression mat by tracing a design with royal icing onto parchment paper...then press it into the crusted bc icon_smile.gif

Good luck!

what kind of bc are you using? are you using the crusting kind? Make sure you use the crusting one. let it crust then put your impression in it

It is a crusting BC. I ran to the store and picked up a small impression mat that will work great. I'm excited to use it. I think I might try the royal icing trick next time. Great idea!

Thanks all!

Hi all! It worked ok. I used a crusting cream cheese icing. I am going to try it agin next weekend with a plain buttercream. I will get a picture up soon. I just wanted to check back real quick to let you know. Oh, I bought a smaller imoression board and I think a larger one will work better for the bigger tiers. icon_smile.gif
