Im having trouble opening the pricing matrix.. so just personal opinions would be great as this is my first paid wedding cake.. how much would you charge?
will be 2 layers chocolate and 2 layers vanilla. buttercream filled.. all fondant covered.. 12, 10, 8, and 6" layers... I was thinking 4-500... but I really am totally new to doing full wedding cake or even cake of this size.. thanks in advance for the help!
I'd charge a minimum of $486 for all buttercream, or a minimum of $729 for fondant, not including extras like fillings, etc. You should definitely consider charging more... if you look online at bakeries in your area or call to ask pricing, you'll find they are charging a lot more than $400-500 for this. If you're using the Wilton serving chart, Vegas prices typically start at $3.50 per serving and up just for buttercream.
that cake serves 172 x what was my BC rate of $3.50 = $602; times what was my fondant rate of $4.50 = $774.

(If the cake will be square... IndyDebi's servings are correct, and you should charge more than my guestimate for round tiers.)

As always, you are soooo helpful!! I was thinking around 600.00.. they seem to think this cake will only serve 100.. I tried explaining portions to them and all of that and it seemed to make more sense to them..
