You have all those years of business experience to pull from and it sounds like you are good at getting your name out there-I would go for it! The only thing I think I would make sure of first is that you have enough money to float you for awhile. We only live once and you sound like your place is in the creative field. I know people say on here that caking gets more tedious and they don't enjoy it as much anymore, but I have to disagree! Sure its stressful, but the joy I get from running my own business makes up for that twice fold
Good luck and I hope you get that restaurant job-that would be exciting!
Don't forget to take into consideration the current economic conditions. I have taken almost eight months to buy supplies and equipment to open debt free. No debt in your personal life and debt free business startup will take alot of stress off of a new business. A strong marketing plan for this economy is a plus. Be realistic about cost of goods sold and your true take-home income. Even if you don't need a loan, a business plan puts alot of reality into a dream. Make one and decide if you really want this.

Yes, I quite my job almost two years ago to do cakes from my home. I worked in a bank for the last 15years. I have only gotten busier since. in the next week or so I will be opening my own shop. It has been a long time getting the shop ready and the equipment I need. but its about to open.
It is a dream come true. I have an Angel investor. He had the faith that I could make it happen. (He is a complete stranger).I did not have the funds on my own. Remember put your faith in the man upstairs. If its ment to happen things will come your way.
That is so awesome and God is awesome to send your Angel to help finance your dream, I too have prayed about it and I have peace about it I am just waiting on the right time, that's why I wanted to get some input so when I make that step there is no turning back!!!!!!

This is awesome advice that too is a plus for me the Lord blessed us to build our home last year debt free and I have 2 kitchens in my home and I am already likcensed so I won't have to rent a shop or anything unless it just gets to a point that i outgrow my house, but my husband said if we have to make the whole basment which is finished my shop then we would , so all I have is a car payment and a couple of minor bills, and that's it, plus I still have my printing business which is still doing very well, so I have taken all of that into consideration that's why I am just waiting until I know it is the right time, thank you all so much for your input and encouragement and truthfulness, you are all awesome
