Does it give off a taste when using it for red velvet cakes/cupcakes? If so, do you recommend another color or brand?
I work in a cake shop where in the gel pastes the only brand we carry are the americolors. I haven't used the color in batter before...however, I use it in fondant fairly regularly and have never noticed it altering the flavor.
It shouldn't. I use the Super Red and have never had a taste from it.
