I need to make a silhouette for a cake. My idea is roll out the fondant cut out my shape and than what? Can I refrigerate that shape? I don't care if its hard, thats actually what I want. I cannot just leave it out because it is going to get hot and humid where I live and I'm figuring thats not good for fondant. So whats the best way to do it in advance and store it till I need it. probably 4 days.

I think if you added some tylose to the fondant it would harden nicely.

*and not need to be in the fridge.

I cut out shapes for cakes several days in advance. I just place them on wax paper on cookie sheets and cover with plastic wrap. They firm up a little, but stay moist enough to be pliable.

also use fondant and it all depends on what kind your using. I know from expereince that the store bought stuff is very hard to work with but is do able. You really just need a sharp knife or razor, and your still gonna have rough edges that you can take a flat tool what ever you might have to push against the sides to get a better finish. It just take time be patient.
I usually make my own and use this recipe I just usually make it by hand instead of using the KA, I just find it makes more of a mess but the recipe is good and easy to work with. HTH

Thanks so much I use Fondx. I cut the groom out ok but the bride is what I am struggling with. I will keep trying. I have been reading about the Silhouette . I know that would print out on the edible sheet. Do you think it would have the same effect as using fondant cut outs
