Is it just me or does the humidity have an affect on royal icing?

I have been working on royal icing roses for a bridal shower cake this weekend. They have been awful! I made two different kinds of icing, because it didn't seem right. Still needed about seven more roses. Just did the first one and it's the best looking so far. The humidity here has been awful and doesn't seem to be as bad today. Just wondering?

Yes, humidity affects royal icing. Add some cornstarch to it, it will help stiffen it up. HTH
