So I tried adding diced fresh strawberries to my vanilla cake today. Not a filling but the actual raw strawberries to the cake batter. They turned into gross looking globs of goo.
Is there anyway for me to add this without it turning out like that? Would adding bigger pieces make a difference or maybe even frozen strawberries instead of the fresh?

What were you trying to make when adding the strawberries: strawberry cake or vanilla cake with strawberries in it?
It was vanilla cake with strawberries added to it.
was it a scratch or mix batter
all the recipe's I saw, the strawberries were stirred in by hand. I wonder if dried strawberries would work.
