There is a crafter's hot knife (electric) available that has temperature control for approx. $50 - $60. Does anyone use an electric hot knife for smoothing cakes? I use the Viva method for buttercream, but that doesn't work on my chocolate covered RKT figures. A hot knife does, but I'd like to find something other than hot water to heat the knife. The website I found even mentions smoothing buttercream, but I'm a little skeptical and don't want to throw that much money away on something that won't work for me. Any thoughts are much appreciated! Thank you :>)
Do you have a link to what this knife looks like? Is it actually a spatula or a knife?
