I'm using my new clay extruder for the first time. I am getting jagged edges and I'm not sure why. My fondant is well kneaded and pliable with a thin coating of crisco on the outside. I'm getting edges that look cracked and flacky. What am I doing wrong?

I'd say add more shortening. My fondant is pretty loose when I use it in my extruder.

I microwave my fondant *for just a few seconds* before extruding mine. I use Satin Ice.

What kind of fondant are you using? When I use Wilton's and Satin Ice I do not get those unless the fondant is too dry.

Now, I bought some of Duff's with a coupon and no matter what I did those would always come out jagged.
