I recently did this, and I couldn't find any helpful tips that also looked good so I decided to wing it. I just frosted a base of whipped ganache then piped random blobs of deep army green, sage, dark chocolate and a touch of black. After it crusted, I went back with a paper towel and flattened the blobs a bit. You can see the result in my photos. It is the Call of Duty cake. Most of the camo is on the sides (which aren't directly pictured). Not sure if this is helpful.

Flourpots' link is the one I used on a cake I made last week, and aside from not being able to get my colors just right (using my limited supply of dyes) I think it turned out really well. Im a total novice, and you can look in my pictures to see how it turned out...it was really easy. icon_smile.gif
