Hi - I am making some cakeballs (love these). I still cant believe I have been throwing away my scraps. UGH. Dollars in the trash.

How do you pipe on the chocolate dipped cakeballs? Can you use buttercream? Or do you use chocolate? I am making some footballs and want to pipe team information on them.

How do you apply flowers or other appliques made out of fondant, gumpaste or molded chocolate to the chocolate dipped cake balls?

Thank you all for your help! I am addicted to this site!

I use melted chocolate. For the cake balls I use Merkens, but for decorations I use Wilton's in whatever color I need.

Melted chocolate works and I've also done buttercream and royal icing. I used that Wilton sparkly gel paste once.... it looked awesome, but they didn't store/travel very well icon_sad.gif
