I'm need 2 shades of beige/tan bc... like a mocha and a cafe au lait. I'm open to the flavor. Would you tint with cocoa powder and just use more for the darker color, or has anyone tried adding coffee to buttercream? Would that give a nice color?

Are you trying to also add the flavor. If not I'd just use tiny amount of brown americolor or whatever color you use till it reaches the desired color.

I think you could probably sub in coffee for some of your liquid if you wanted. I've added melted butterscotch chips to my bc before and it's come out great and a pretty medium tan color icon_smile.gif

We flavor our coffee IMBC with instant coffee dissolved in a tiny bit of water and it makes a very nice tan color.

Our caramel frosting is a little bit more pale, for that we just add caramel to our IMBC. Peanut butter also makes a nice tan.
