Question About Fondant & Royal Icing.

I plan to put an edible ink transfer on fondant, cut it out and let it dry. Im wanting to insert it in the top of the cake (like a candle) and have it standing. Will the moisture from the icing rehydrate the fondant and cause it to go limp? What about royal icing? will it rehydrate or does it stay hard as concrete? (im wanting everything to be edible, no toothpicks.)
