I really would like to start scratch baking but am concerned about the self life. I try to bake on Thursdays for any cakes on the weekend. I use boxed mixes now and my kids will eat a cake up to a week after a party. Any comments would be appreciated. I don't want this to become a scratch vs boxed forum! Thanks!
Shelf life depends on the recipe you use.
I would try baking a cake and tasting a small piece everyday until i detected an off taste in the cake.
