Going to a get together for a man I worked w/ for 4 yrs. before we both got laid off and i've been asked to bring the cake but have no idea what to take cause his wife just passed away w/ cancer a couple weeks ago. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

A simple cake of your choice, iced in your best icing.
For decorations, simply center flowers in the middle of the cake. (butter cream flowers?) Or leave it plain.

There is on need for wording at a time like this. It's simply the gesture that you cared enough to be there, and thought enough to bring something.

I hope this helps!

I would do a simple cake. If it is just for him a 6" because it seems more personal. I think roses would be perfect.

I saw these cakes in your photos and thought any of these should work.
Purple Wendy Cake, Blue Scroll Work Cake, Easter Cakes (flowers instead of eggs), Chocolate Poinsettia Cake ( maybe do roses instead?)

P.S. I loved the Purple Wendy Cake, it's bright and springy!

Good Luck!
