Can you tell us more about your cake?
Was it fondant or buttercream covered?
Were the decorations you added fondant, gumpaste, or other?
What did you use for edible glue? (there are a few different things people use)
What is the temperature like in your house?
What is the humidity like?
Did you store it in the fridge?

Any of these things could cause the icing to go sticky.

Also-did you store it sealed up in a plastic container? Not good for cakes!

Hi, it was a sponge cake with buttercream in the middle and rolled out fondant over the top, the decorations were fondant aswell, but it is only the decorations that have gone sticky not the rest of the cake yet.
not sure on the edible glue it just says edible glue on the tub..sorry i no thts not very helfull. no iv had the cake hidden in the cupboard with lid over the top its not a seled lid as i no once you have iced a cake the icing keeps the cake fresh as it seals it.. tempiture varies in my house but as we have a tumle dryer next to the kitchen it does get quite hot some time.

i read in a couple of other post's about using chocolate as glue? whats that like and can you use that with fondant?
