I've never charged for a cake before, since I've only made for friends and family...I have my first customer and I've no idea what to charge! It will be two-tiered 9" and 6", MMF covered. It's a tropical fish theme, so I'm using royal icing to make some fish to go all around the cake. Any tips on how much to charge? I'm figuring that I'll be putting around $20 into the cake to make it, so I want to make some sort of profit. Thanks for any advice/tips!!!
Hi Butterflygirl: I charge by the slice....($3) in my area....plus time/delivery...there are charts on how many people you can server on the wilton site...good luck with your cake
You have to take into consideration your area and your skill level. Ask around for prices from decorators in your area...Where are You?
