what is the best way to get a burgandy color using marshmellow fondant

Color it dark red and add a touch of black. If you're making the whole batch the same color, add the coloring to the melted marshmallows before you add the powdered sugar. The color that it turns before the sugar is added will be close to the finished color. Red darkens a bit overnight.

thanks but i have trouble coloring it dark red bc the powdered sugar wants to color it pinkish..but i will try before i add the PS

Red is the hardest color to do. Sometimes you have to add a lot more color than you'd think. If you can get some americolor Super Red it takes about half as much as the regular red, but it darkens a couple shades overnight...I've painted roses with it and thought it was the perfect color and the next day when they were dry they were almost black.
