Does anybody know how I could make a child's jack-in-the-box cake (not the fast food) and have a figure popping up out of the middle with the lid open? I can't figure out what to make the lid out of or how to secure it so it doesn't fall off.

Make the lid out of gumpaste and use melted candy melts as the glue to hold the lid in place.

hi, i'd make it out of gumpaste or pastillage and use RI to "glue" it to two dowels onto the back of the lid one each side, so it kind of looks like a road sign, then just push these into the cake when the lid is dry which will make it really secure icon_smile.gif
