Hi! I am entering my 1st cake to the LA County Fair and I have no earthly idea what kind of plate or cardboard or what I should put it on. The contest requires the recipe being delivered with the cake, does it need to be attached? Do I need to put my name on the bottom of the plate? Help please!! Thank you all!!

I would use a cake drum or cake board . Deending on your cake design and decoration the cake drum or board can be covered with fondant, R.I., food grade foil, and cover the edge with a ribbon.

I am not sure of the recipe but, I would just type it up in Word then print off a few copies and hand it in with your entry.
