I am making a Platinum Anniversary cake, and need suggestions and tips to achieve the right finish on my buttercream. Do I need to use an airbrush? (I don't have one yet.) I am envisioning something shimmery, is that what you would do? TIA

Have you tried Duff's airbrush colors in a spray can? (they are at Michaels) I have heard they work pretty good. I have an airbrush, which I LOVE - don't need it all the time, but boy it sure is handy for things like that.

Ok, definately no time to purchase and practice with an airbrush at this point. I think I will do Royal Icing, Platinum colored scrolls over White buttercream.

What color(s) would I use to get Platinum?

Thanks!

Light gray (a little black) but be careful, some blacks are ugly when trying to get gray.
