I ussually decorate pound cakes because I think they are firm and dense, however they are heavier than sponge cakes.

I have to deliver a four tier (4" each) sponge wedding cake this saturday and I am just terrified thinking that it could colapse because it is a softer cake. I will be using fondant to cover and decorate it. Could you please give me any advise on the structure? I normally use hard cardboard plates between tiers and four dowels. Something else, I live in Cancun and it is hot, humid and the party does not have air conditioned, I am planniing to stack it right there. The party will be at 9M. Please help!!!

The weeding cake came out very nice. It did not collapsed. However I should have used a long dowell to go through all the tiers and I could have had a better sleep that night.
