I am about to decorate a cake using fondant for the first time, Does anyone have any helpful tips to color the fondant, is it as easy as it seems? I bought the already made fondant (white) I would like pretty vivid colors, would it be better to just buy the already colored stuff??
Thank You for any tips anyone could give me

It is very easy to colour fondant, just keep adding colouring and knead it in until you have the desired colour. You need to use paste colours though, not the basic food dye you buy at the supermarket, as they are too liquid-y and will make a gooey mess of your fondant!

If you are going for really vibrant colours, or very strong colours like red or black I'd suggest buying pre-coloured fondant. If you colour it yourself you will have to knead in so much paste colour that it will probably wor out to be more expensive than buying pre-coloured fondant (not to mention the elbow-grease required!).
