Hey everyone I am doing a Luau themed cake next month and I am not quite sure how to go about doing the palm tree. How do I get the leaves to attatch to the trunk? What should the trunk be made out of? Any suggestions would be much appreciated-thanks

I made a palm tree for a jungle cake not to long ago. I just made the leaves out of green gumpaste and let them dry, then made the trunk out of brown gumpast, after I rolled it out I started at the top and cut little snips with scissors (to make it look like the bark), then when the leaves were dry I used melted chocolate(colored green) and layered the leaves on.
