I have a request for a carved fish cake to feed 25. Anyone have any instructions for carving it. Any tips for getting this cake done will be greatly appreciated. TIA
I don't know what angle you are thinking of, but I played around with 9" rounds to make a fish. I cut something like 1/3 of the cake off, then stood the remaining rounds up to make the fish's body. With the part that I cut off, I used the outside curve to make the tail, then cut small pieces for the fins from scraps. I was just experimenting and ended up with a different idea all together. If I was doing it again I might make 2 8" rounds and 2 6" rounds to make the body wider and more rounded.
