I am not a fan of store bought icing or buttercream icing it is toooooo sweet for me! so i have come up with my own frosting that is light and sweet enough but i am trying to find out how to make it thick with out changing the flavor so i can use for decorating as well?

Please help!

Without the recipe, no one will be able to help figure it out.

You make icing thicker by adding more sugar or less liquid. I've never understood the "it makes it sweeter" theory .... it's all sugar. When you add sugar to sugar it doesn't make it sweeter, it just makes a bigger pile of sugar.

That said, I've tried a recipe that had double the fat of what I was used to using and all I could taste was the crisco. Super nasty! If that had been my only exposure to a crisco-based icing, I'd never use it again. But fortunately, I knew better. thumbs_up.gif
