I need to make a rope to put on a wedding cake. I want to use Bettercreme, but it melts fondant. Can I use gumpaste or will that soften and break also?
The blue tiered cake in my photos is frosted in non dairy icing. It has fondant decorations and I didn't have any problems with the fondant melting. Non dairy icing crusts slightly after it sets that's one reason why you don't want to touch it after is has been frosted. Adding decorations is fine.
Wait, who says buttercream melts fondant?
