How Do I Make Gumpaste With Out Using Gelatin?

I'm a vegetarian and I'd like to make gumpaste but my recipe calls for Gelatin which i'd rather not use..can i use something else instead? I read on one forum that you could use Arrawroot?

They have vegetarian gelatin at select specialty grocery stores or online.

If you can use eggs, Nick Lodge's gumpaste recipe calls for egg whites, powdered sugar and tylose...no gelatin.
