We are surprising my dad for his 84th bday & I was making a "small" version of a carved antique car. Plan on covering it in fondant and figure I'll use a BC filling. Problem is...the 1200 mile drive! I won't have time to bake/assemble there as we would be arriving the day of the party. Does anyone think it will make it? Would fondant be the best frosting? ANY help/ideas???

No doubt fondant would be the best as long as your filling is not perishable. That's one long trip. I'd keep my air conditioning blasting if I were you! And the cake in a protected box.
