it has been soooooo long since I have used color flow that i just don't remember.

What is the estimated life expectancy of color flow after it has been attached to a cake with buttercream? (Indoors & air conditioned.)

TIA
Casey

If it's a thick piece, several days before it gets grease spots. If it's a thin piece, several hours before it gets spots and/or begins to get thin areas.

Ways to prevent this issue:

Sit it on small marshmallows or sugar cubes pressed into the icing with a dab of RI as glue.
Paint the back with piping gel.
Cut a piece of fondant the approximate shape and attach w/ RI
