I found this image online and I love this cake. The decorations look fake to me. What do you think?

I don't think the decorations are fake. Could be chocolate, fondant or gumpaste or a combination.

I think they are probably gumpaste or something similar. I reallly don't think they're fake. Some people (many on this site) are just that good. icon_eek.gif

That was my first guess but I was thinking they look fake but I did see a video where some of the decorations were chocolate looked like the topper.

Well when I grow up, I want my cakes to look like that. I thought maybe it was designed as a dummy with non-edible decorations and then I thought they look like chocolate.

That looks like chocolate to me. Some is luster dusted, I think, to get the differing shades.

I'm guessing the chocolate is probably poured out in a sheet and once it's semi-set, the triangles and circles are cut out and then allowed to set all the way. Then they're fancied up with dusts and glitters and such. That's how I'd try it first, at least. icon_lol.gif

Very pretty cake!!
