Does anyone here have an idea of what strawberry filling recipe they use on Safeway cakes? I've searched on the recipe gallery but I'm not sure which one to follow. My newphew's birthday is on Saturday and he wants a clone trooper chocolate cake filled with fresh strawberries just like in Safeway. I'm running of time. I already have a recipe for chocolate cake and frosting. Just need that Strawberry filling recipe.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, guys!

I already have strawberries. If I do use fresh ones, how long can the cake go without being refrigerated. Coz I'm also thinking of covering the cake in fondant and I've heard that fondant covered cakes shouldn't be refrigerated.

I don't know how long this can last outside of the fridge but I know a good strawberry filling. I use heavy whipping cream and add 1 tablespoon of powder sugar. If strawberry's really tart, you just add more powder sugar. whip it till soft peak and fold in fresh cut strawberry.
