I am absolutely new to decorating cakes. I just made my first ever batch of marshmallow fondant today! Now I am stuck on what to do with it, besides covering the cake that is. Any ideas on an EASY beginner cake to try out? I was thinking about attempting to make it look like a gift (i.e. ribbon down the sides and a bow on top). Its not for any special occasion so any ideas are helpful!

I would begin by covering a round cake, it's much easier for someone just learning, in my opinion.
Have you seen any of the great how-to videos on YouTube?

(To make a bow that will hold its shape, you'll need tylose or gumpaste added to your fondant)

I did see some of the videos, that's how I learned how to make the fondant! Thanks for the advice!

That means you probably kneaded on your table, right?
You can do it with much less mess by adding the powdered sugar and kneading inside the same large bowl you melted the marshmallows in.

I put the bowl in my empty kitchen sink, hold it steady with one hand, and knead with the other! Takes a few minutes.
