Hi I'm making a cake for a birthday tomorrow, it'll be two tiers. I plan on frosting it tonight with DH canned frosting. Do you guys recommend me keeping it in the fridge over night??

Also, once the frosting is hard would I be able to stick fondant pieces onto it?

thanks (:

You don't need to refrigerate canned frosting.

Does canned frosting get hard?

I would refrigerate it if it's warm in your house. You can stick fondant pieces on it, but they may slide down.

Here's my favorite frosting recipe http://cakecentral.com/recipes/6992/indydebis-crisco-based-buttercream-icing It doesn't need to be refrigerated either. It's a crusting buttercream so it's easier to smooth.
