I am new to decorating and my neighbor wants me to make a cake and cupcakes for her daughters bday this weekend. She is wanting a 6" round cake with fondant polka dots and aprox 30 cupcakes. 1/2 of the cupcakes will be strawberry the other vanilla. She will be providing hello kitty ring toppers for 1/2 of the cupcakes and a topper for the 6" cake. Gumpaste flowers that I will make will top the other 1/2 of the cupcakes. What should someone new to the buisness charge for something like this? Thanks for all of your help in advance!

This picture is similar to what they are asking for in my opinion! (Caitycakes is the artist of this cake)

When figuring a price several things need to be taken into consideration. How much the ingredients cost you? How much it cost you to make it? How much you want to make for your time? and your skill level or quality of work that you do should also be considered when setting a price. Prices should also be similar to what the going price is in your area.
