You could try using a fan. Did you mix any gumpaste of tylose powder in with the fondant? That will make it dry much faster.

If it is NOT mmf you can put it in the oven overnight. Don't turn the oven on just the light and close the door and wait for morning! hth

I used satin ice chocolate fondant and added fixadent since it is just to be used on a display cake.

Are they suppose to look like they are melting in the oven under the light?

You need to use GP or at least fondant with a buttload of tylose in anything like that from now on. And you won't have to put it in the oven that way either.

NO, they are not supposed to look like they are melting. Just drying from the heat of the bulb.

Not sure how it works. I thought it was weird when I did it. I have just had to do it before b/c of time restraints. It does help to dry it out though. I just remember the post I learned the trick on said not to use the oven trick with mmf.

I've used with a mixture of mmf and tylose powder. My oven light isn't on unless the door is open so I opened the door enough for the light to be on and then covered the opening with a towel to keep the tiny bit of heat in.

I just wish the next morning my daughter had remembered that my stove is electric and the burner takes awhile to cool, unlike her gas stove at college. Burned towel aroma for breakfast. icon_sad.gif
