Hi all! I have been asked to do a cake with strawberry filling and banana frosting but I am not sure of how to make a banana flavored "crusting" buttercream. Also if it has a banana mushed up in it, will it affect how it will look once it color it? Do you think that it would just be better to use a banana flavored extract?
I would just use extract. Real banana turns brown when it's exposed to air and has those little seeds that would show up too.
oh yeah.. extract. although.. someone on here mentioned using one of those banana creme sleeves once.. maybe they will read this and re-inform us on how it worked out for them.
