I've never made a gumpaste/fondant figure and I need to make a cow (standing) for a farm themed cake. Does anyone know where I can get a tutorial or instructions on how to make it. Any ideas on coloring fondant black? I will appreciate your help.

Have you googled? I would google fondant or gumpaste cow as well as clay directions.

As far as the getting fondant black, if you are doing a small amount it shouldn't be a problem, just mix in some color gel to the fondant. If it gets really sticky you might need to add in a little powder sugar. Or you can just paint the spots on.

I use the books for polymer clay as a guide to make animals. As for making black fondant, I just buy it already colored. I am just to lazy to make it. icon_smile.gif
