I tried searching and couldn't find anything. What should the temp and time be set to for baking in a 4inch pan. I had a cake disaster on Monday with the 4inch cake pan. I had my oven set at 350 and after 40 minutes the middle was still not done. Any ideas?
1) drop temp to 325
2) use baking strips to slow down how fast the edges cook.
First, I believe that the 4" deep pans are for fruitcakes, primarily. Are you trying to bake an American batter style cake? If so, I'd think it would take well over an hour to bake. Perhaps even close to 2 hours. You'd have to use a very low temp. That's a lot of batter!!
