What is the best way to make goal posts and insert them? I thought about using my extruder, but didn't know if the fondant/tylose mixture would be sturdy enough. The cake will be 10x20 if that makes any difference.

Thoughts and suggestions would be much appreciated - it is for a cake on Saturday.

Thanks!
Michelle

I stuck a skewer into my extruder and covered the vertical piece with gumpaste and then used the extruder to create the top piece. Undfortunately, the top piece never hardened for longer than a couple of minutes because of the heat and humidity. I was able to glue the two pieces together with candy melts, but it didn't matter since the top piece was too floppy.

After that disaster, I looked at pictures on here and it seems everyone uses plastic to make theirs. However, if you can piece together straws and cover them in gumpaste, that might work since it would have something stiff under the gumpaste. I didn't think of that until far too late for my cake. icon_sad.gif
