Gumpaste Question

When you use gumpaste to make accents to go on the cake, do you tell the customer to remove it before eating the cake? I'm talking about things like scrolls, letters, etc., not gumpaste flowers which are easily taken off the cake. Thanks

Yep.
I say something like "The (gumpaste pieces) are on the crunchy side and you probably don't want to eat them, so when you're ready to cut the cake just set them to the side."

I'd rather they know ahead of time rather than have Uncle Joe crack a tooth biting into his slice of cake. icon_smile.gif
