I have a baptism cake someone wants me to make, they want a baby crib/bassinet as the cake topper. My question is has anyone used this candy mold with fondant or gumpaste instead of candy melts?

I'm just concerned that it will melt in this heat. So wanted to order this mold but use fondant or gumpaste to make the crib. Has anyone done this before and did it work out for you?

Sorry no one has answered. I don't know but can you call them and ask, I don't see why you couldn't?

I use gumpaste/fondant in candy molds all the time. As long as the cavities are not too deep, and it looks like they're not from the picture, you should be fine.

The remote control in the Book Cake in my photos was made from fondant in a candy mold. Also the baby blocks and milk bottle in the Diaper Bag cake.

Oh by the way, just so I don't assume anything - when I use fondant I make sure all the edges are clean then pop in the freezer for about 15 mins for it to set. Then i take it out and let it air dry.

If the candy mold doesn't work out for you, Patchwork Cutters has a nice cutter set at Global Sugar Art.
