Hello, I am donating a cake for silent auction tonight. I have never been to a silent auction before and this is my first time donating. My question is, what all needs to go on the decription card for the cake? Is there a particular size paper or does it matter? Sorry I am new to this and I don't want to mess it up! icon_smile.gif Thanks! Mandi

Many that I've seen use 8 1/2 by 11 ad from the contributor. . Use most of the page to advertise your cake talent, but I would be very specific about what they are getting, or specific $ amount.

Cakes at auctions generally don't go for much, so I would keep it to a simple birthday cake. If you have a pic of the cake you are willing to donate I would use it.

each auction has its own rules for the paper size etc. I have always just included a photo of what I was willing to do. Be sure to set a minimum price, you don't want to work yourself to death and only make 5 bucks for your cause. good luck
