I am making a wedding cake for a friend of my dd's/ She wants a white background with hot pink and bright purple polka dots. Looks more like a birthday cake to me, but this is what she wants. She doesn't have the topper yet, left it up to me to see what would go with it. Any ideas.? Here is a sketch I made of what I am thinking about.

A crystal monogram would look nice with that design, with maybe a couple of pink or purple ribbon roses right at the base.

I agree with you that it looks more like a birthday cake. When I looked at the sketch, before I read your post, I was going to suggest balls of similar colored fondant on wires out of hte top. But I"m not sure that would really be appropriate for a wedding cake. But it woudl sure match!

I vote for the crystal monogram!

When I first saw it, I was thinking the fondant balls also until I saw it was for a wedding cake! lol

That sounds pretty good. I like the crystal balls suggestion.
Thanks, everyone. I will ask her what she thinks.
She also wants us [me and dd] to make her an armadillo cake for the groom. LOL. My dd can design that, she did most of the work on my bug cake.

It sounds like someone has seen Steel Magnolias one too many times. Be sure it's red velvet!

aww! thanks, It was a fun cake to do, and the bride and sister of the groom, saw it on FB and loved it.
My dd is awseome. She did the armadillo and the roach bug cake in my photos, I make the cake and fondant and she designs them from a picture of the animal.
