I'm not in NW Arkansas but I'm not that far away from you...I'm in Sheridan. About 40 minutes SW of Little Rock. Where are you located in NW AR?

Luisa's birthday cake in your photo's is one of my favorites thumbs_up.gif

I am also from Arkansas. I am from Vilonia, about 40 minutes northeast of little rock. It is also nice to know that I am not alone.

I used to be! (I live in Tulsa now) I grew up near Fort Smith, and still have family in that area.

My son went to Bible College in Ft. Smith. I love it up that way. My uncle is an archeology instructor at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, not all that far from Ft. Smith.

My husband works for Entergy and when he works at St. Joes I love to go with him (when my schedule allows me to) and stay in this awesome cottage that we found up there. It is so beautiful up that way. thumbs_up.gif

it is beautiful here. We have only lived here for a year, we moved from So. California. however, my family has lived here forever so I have been coming here my whole life. My husband fell in love with it several years ago so we put it on the list for a place to relocate to. I mean how lucky can a man get that he can walk outside golf in his backyard and then hunt or fish pretty much all year long. Plus my mom lives here so that is a huge bonus, instant babysitter for the kiddos icon_smile.gif

Wow thank you so much! I am actually an accountant full time LOL. I work in Fayetteville. I'd like to have my own shop someday, but at this point, not ready for the financial commitment and risk! I've just been doing them for friends and family, but I am looking for a commercial kitchen to rent so I can start making it the real deal and get licensed and all that.

Hello everyone! Great to see quite a few really good cakers are here! By the way, I didn't mean to start this thread then never check inicon_wink.gif I thought I'd get email updates if anyone weighed in and I never saw any responses until I logged in today. My bad for not being on here more.

Mamawrobin - thanks so much for the compliment! Lu's cake was really fun.

Simplegra and Jardot22 - we are really close neighbors! I am in Springdale.

Anyways, it would be great to keep in touch with all of you. Perhaps we can have a little mini "day of sharing" sometime. It would also be nice to be able to refer a client to someone if I need to!

If anyone wants to get in contact via Facebook you can find me at my Vanilla Bean Dreams page. I'm happy to link to yours as well if you have one.

Well, you certainly have the talent. Your work is better than some that have shops...LOL...I do understand what you mean about the risk. I have no desire to own my own shop.

Tamatha...I think a day of sharing would be great.
I'm going to check you out on facebook as well. Thanks for starting this thread. There are others on cc from Arkansas that haven't posted in this thread. Maybe they will if they see it.

We'll just have to keep it going so it stays popular and more Arkansans join in! We really need a cake club here. I thought that there was one but I've never heard where or how to get involved. Maybe it's out of Little Rock.

Jardot, I am also looking for a shared commercial space in Rogers/B'ville but have had NO luck either. I did find a caterer that was willing and excited about working together but they did not really have the room for me. Takes a lot of space for supplies and to spread out to do sugar work. I was also afraid that they might put something garlicky next to one of my cakes in the frdige - LOL!

We're in the process of looking at homes in Bella Vista to decide if we want to relocate. It would be great to have a cake club in NWA

Hi everyone! I grew up in Fort Smith, graduated college from the U of A in Fayetteville, and now live in Little Rock. I'm so glad to see other Arkansans on here. Thanks, Karen421 for giving me this link.
