Can you stencil on buttercream and what is the best way??

I love stenciling on buttercream and many other type of mediums. I do a nice covering of crusting buttercream. Let is set up after you do your cake and have it all finished. I like to stencil with a good crusting , medium buttercream. If you get it too whippy , it will ruin behind the stencil. Take your time when stenciling. Its alot of fun to work with.
