Could you please tell me if I need a wooden dowel down the center of a 3 tiered cake 10" 8" and 6"

Are you transporting the cake? I have used them in my three tiered cakes and I've gone without using them. It will give you the added support for peace of mind and if you're transporting the cake it wouldn't hurt.

I use the wooden bbq skewers that you can buy at the grocery store in a pkg. of 100 for $2.99. They're skinny unlike the wooden dowels and already have a sharpened end.
