How much icing SugarShack's recipe makes? I'm going to be making a 50th birthday cake for a work colleague of my husband as our gift and she's going to pay cost. I've determined that I can do it in buttercream with fondant accents and based on the Wilton charts I've determined that for a 6/8/12 or 6/10/12 (I'm leaning towards the latter) I need about 13 or 14 cups of buttercream. I've used the 6qt recipe she's got posted but there's nothing really about quantity.

I cant help you with the 6QT, but my 5QT Pro makes 18 cups. You can always freeze any leftovers or use for cake balls... Make sure you factor in the amount you will need to make the stiff BC dam as well.. That actually takes quite a bit.. Thats just my opinion and I hope this helps. April

Thanks! That helps a lot. I was thinking along the lines of 20 cups, so I can work the numbers that way.
