I have to make two cakes this weekend for my son and a friend's son. They are coming to visit on Thursday-Sun. We are meeting them at the Dells at a resort on Thurs. and we'll all drive back home together on Saturday.
Here is the dilemma. I only have Wed. to make the cakes because we'll be gone through Sat. We will be eating the cakes on Saturday. How can I make and decorate the cakes and store them 'til Saturday? Will they still be fresh? Or should I just go buy and pick up a cake on Saturday? Would cake boxes work?
It's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask. : )
ooohh that's a good question! I think you might have yourself in a predicament! I'm definitely NOT an expert, but I've had good results decorating and then freezing a cake...but then I let it sit overnight in the fridge to thaw. Could you do that and have someone come over Friday eve to transfer the cake to the fridge?? I'm not sure on this one!!!!
